In LOVE IS STRANGE, after Ben and George get married, George is fired from his teaching post, forcing them to stay with friends separately while they sell their place and look for cheaper housing – a situation that weighs heavily on all involved.

Ira Sachs is an award-winning filmmaker whose first film was the acclaimed short, “Lady” in 1993. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, his films have screened at the Sundance Film Festival including “The Delta” (1997), the Sundance Film Festival Grand Prize winning “Forty Shades of Blue” (2005) and Married Life (2007), starring Chris Cooper, Pierce Brosnan and Rachel McAdams. His film, “Keep the Lights On”, debuted at Sundance in 2012. His latest film, “Love Is Strange”, premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is slated for release on September 5th. Mr. Sachs was in Dallas recently to promote “Love is Strange” where I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with him about his movie, his life and his future works.
