Vertical Entertainment Acquires North American Rights For Action Thriller “6 Days”

Film Stars Jamie Bell, Abbie Cornish & Mark Strong

Toa Fraser’s thriller “6 Days,” starring Jamie Bell, Abbie Cornish, and Mark Strong, has been acquired by Vertical Entertainment for North American rights with a target U.S. theatrical date in Fall 2017. Additionally, Netflix has secured a deal for the international rights for the film as a Netflix Original Films in the following markets: France, Germany, Latin America, Japan, Benelux, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Italy, Switzerland, and some other international territories.

Additional international sales include the following markets and companies: UK (Icon), Australia/NZ (Transmission), Portugal (Film4You), Spain (A Contracorriente), Middle East (Falcon), Turkey (Calinos), Indonesia (PT Prima), S. Korea (Double & Joy), Pan Asian PTV (Fox), China (HGC).

“6 Days” is based on the actual events of April 1980 when six armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy at London’s Princes Gate, taking 26 people hostage. Six days of tense stand-off ensued as a group of highly trained soldiers from Britain’s Special Air Service (SAS) prepared to raid the building.

“Jamie, Abbie, and Mark put forth excellent performances,” said Vertical co-President Rich Goldberg. “We cannot wait to begin working with the ‘6 Days’ producing team and XYZ Films again to bring this true story to audiences later this year.”

Producer Matthew Metcalfe stated, “I am excited to be working Vertical, Netflix, and all of our distribution partners to bring this incredible true story to audiences worldwide. The events surrounding the siege at No. 16 Princes Gate, London in May 1980 were unprecedented for the time and Toa Fraser’s adaptation of the events reveals a tense, dramatic and confrontational story that could not be more relevant to our world today.”

The deal was negotiated by Vertical’s co-President Rich Goldberg and VP of Marketing and Acquisitions Peter Jarowey, and WME Global and Nate Bolotin at XYZ Films on behalf of the filmmakers.
