“The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition” Premieres March 1 On LIFETIME

The mother/daughter relationship is notoriously complicated…and when the mothers and daughters happen to be celebrities, their drama is exposed for everyone to see. In the new Lifetime series, “The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition” (#MotherDaughterExperiment), premiering March 1st at 10pm ET/PT, six mother/daughter pairs will air all their dirty laundry to repair their broken relationships. Emotions run high as therapist Dr. Debbie Magids guides them through explosive therapy and intense exercises to move past their differences and rebuild their bonds. Will this experience bring out the best or worst in these mothers and daughters? Is this a new beginning or the beginning of the end of these famous relationships?

The Mother/Daughters pairs participating in the series are:

Kim Richards (“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”) and her daughter, Kimberly Jackson.

Kim is no stranger to controversy…famous siblings and family rivalries with sisters Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton…you name it, she has been accused of it all. It’s made her daughter Kimberly often feel like she’s the grown up, leading to their rift.

Heidi Montag (“The Hills”) and her mom, Darlene Egelhoff.

After being estranged for over two years, Heidi and Darlene finally started speaking to one another again, but they swept their problems under the rug. Now they’re ready to finally address their issues head on. Darlene blames Heidi for their falling out, claiming her need for fame and her relationship with her husband Spencer Pratt pushed them apart. Meanwhile Heidi feels her mother betrayed her in the media and used the press to get back at her.

Natalie Nunn (“Bad Girls Club”) and her mom, Karen.

As the baddest of the bad girls, drama follows Natalie wherever she goes. Her mother Karen blames Natalie’s lack of respect for authority on herself, while Natalie attributes her attitude on her volatile relationship with her mom and her racial identity struggles growing up. With the death of Natalie’s grandmother one week before their arrival, tensions and emotions are at an all-time high.

Courtney Stodden and her mom, Krista.

Courtney shocked America when she married a 51-year-old actor when she was just 16. Courtney feels her mother wanted fame at all costs and used her life to get it. Courtney and her mom are reunited on the show after not seeing each other for six months where Krista drops a bombshell revelation about her secret relationship with Courtney’s husband.

Shar Jackson (“Moesha”) and her daughter, Cassie.

After Shar’s well-known break-up with Kevin Federline — when he left a pregnant Shar for Britney Spears — Shar fell apart, not realizing the burden it put on Cassie. Now when it comes to dating, Cassie feels Shar is overprotective and not letting her find her own way and make her own mistakes. Cassie resents the fact she can’t become her own person while Shar feels she’s still the mother and has the right to weigh in.

Jessica Canseco (“Hollywood Exes”) and her daughter, Josie.

After a divorce from former MLB player Jose Canseco, Jessica tried to make it up to her daughter Josie by being the “fun, cool” mom. But as Josie entered adulthood, Jessica found herself in the best friend zone, with Josie not listening or respecting her authority. After Josie’s recent DUI arrest, Jessica is trying to put her foot down, but the two are at odds because Josie believes she is an adult and should be treated like one, all the while living on her mom’s dime and in her home.

“The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition” is produced by 495 Productions with Founder and President SallyAnn Salsano (“Jersey Shore”) serving as executive producer, along with Joel Zimmer (“Blue Collar Millionaires”). Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Kimberly Chessler executive produce for Lifetime. Lifetime has ordered eight one-hour episodes of the series.
