A Night With Janis Joplin Comes To The Bass Hall January 23

Performing Arts Fort Worth proudly welcomes A Night with Janis Joplin to Bass Performance Hall on January 23rd at 7:30 pm, as part of the BNSF Popular Entertainment series. Tickets are $44-$99 and are on sale now!

Texas native Janis Joplin exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the queen of rock and roll. Her unmistakable voice, filled with raw emotion, made her a must-see concert attraction. At the height of her popularity, at the age of 27, she passed away from a drug overdose, leaving behind a body of work that has greatly influenced both pop music and pop culture.

This Tony Award-nominated musical tribute features many of the songs that catapulted the singer to fame, including “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Piece of My Heart,” and “Cry Baby.” The show also features music from iconic artists who influenced Joplin, such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and Nina Simone.

In the role of Joplin will be Kelly McIntyre with 2017 The Voice contestant Katrina Rose Dideriksen as an understudy. Other cast members include Aurianna Angelique, Ashley Tamar Davis, Tawny Dolley and Jennifer Leigh Warren. The show was written and directed by Randy Johnson.
