For all you “Phantasm” lovers out there, hold on to your balls as “Phantasm 5” is on its way. Titled “Phantasm: Ravager”, it is being dubbed “The final installment of the long running Phantasm series.” The story continues with our two heroes, Reggie (Reggie Bannister) and Mike (A. Michael Baldwin), fighting the Tall Man (Angus Scrimm) and his army of darkness.
The series began back in 1979 with the original “Phantasm” and spawned three sequels where the series seemed to end in 1998 with the fourth installment titled “Phantasm IV: Oblivion.” Since then, director Don Coscarelli teased fans that he was indeed working on a fifth script but until recently, nothing solid had surfaced. Until now. The film is scheduled for release some time in 2015. My personal favorite was “Phantasm 2” which came out in 1988.
