Movie Review: “Two Bellmen” Is Full Of Action And Fun

Two exceptional bell hops are forced to work together to save the day when a group of thieves attempt an art heist at their hotel.

Short films are almost always fun and packed with punch. “Two Bellman” delivers a full serving of action, fun and phenomenal editing. This dynamic short was written by Mr. “Malakai” Cabrera and Jade Raybin, then directed and Produced by Daniel “Malakai” Cabrera. The amazing editing was delivered by Micah Hollinger. Rounding out the talented writing and production team is John “Fingazz” Stary with his original score and sound.

Take all the physical action and acrobatic stunt work of “The Matrix,” combine it with the smooth mechanics of “Ocean’s 11,” stir in the best jazz sound track you know and shake it all together with the sarcastic humor of an episode of “How I Met Your Mother” and you will have a perfect short film cocktail with the title “Two Bellman.” From the opening credits to the very surprising ending, I was completely entertained.

The special effects stunts did one of two things: either stunned me with the physicality of the stunt, or left me wondering how it was done…or both! A good deal of credit on the seamless execution and presentation of the stunts lies in the editing talents of Micah Hollinger. Telling a story of loyalty, greed and organized crime is nothing new.

“Two Bellmen” however, finds a way to make it fresh and engaging. Sporting a cast of three leads, 8 supporting characters and several dozen extras, “Two Bellman” should be able to entertain any audience that sees it, and sweep any film festival it is showcased in.
