Movie Review: Romantic Adventure “Once Upon A Time” Is Masterfully Brilliant

An immortal woman reconnects with a love from her past life.

“Once Upon a Time” is a romantic drama fantasy film. It‘s based on the fantasy novel ‘Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms,’ also known as ‘To the Sky Kingdom,’ by TangQi Gongzi.

Romance is the theme of “Once Upon a Time.” This fantasy film successfully manages to merge romance with adventure. Everything about this film is wonderful. “Once Upon a Time” is like watching “Beauty and the Beast” on steroids!

“Once Upon a Time” champions the love story between Ye Hua (Yang Yang) and Bai Qian (Crystal Liu). Bai Qian works tirelessly as she awaits the return of her Master. Bai Qian is immortal and has been alive for over 70,000 years. She meets fellow immortal Ye Hua after being invited to the Prince’s gathering. Prince Ye Hua falls head over heels in love with Bai Qian and wants her to marry him. Their courtship is filled with many obstacles and this is where the adventure begins.

I love Disney-esque films and “Once Upon a Time” is perfectly loveable. The story is highly entertaining. It’s filled with love, history, romance, and adventure. There are many highs and lows involved in this tale and those elements only make it easier to get wrapped up in the story.

The graphics and music are amazing. “Once Upon a Time” is a different kind of fantasy. The ambiance of this film has a video game feel to it and it would make an awesome “Final Fantasy” game. I thought the storyline was very developed, detailed and well thought out. Bai Qian and Ye Hua’s world is very realistic.

“Once Upon a Time” is great fun and both children and adults will love it. It is an exciting film with friendly characters and an outstanding cast and I think people will truly enjoy it.
