Movie Review: “Peter Rabbit” Is Hysterical Fun That Will Leave You Craving More

Feature adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic tale of a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer’s vegetable garden.

Love is where the heart is and the heart belongs home. Home can be a beautiful place when it’s cared for. One must look after their home constantly to make sure it maintains its existence. Family fun is always needed and enjoyed and laughter can brighten a home as it spreads from room to room infiltrating the family. “Peter Rabbit” interprets that love for home in the most whimsical way.

“Peter Rabbit” is a film based on the writings of Beatrix Potter. The film follows Peter (James Corden) as he lives in the countryside with his sisters and cousin. Peter’s family is a vibrant bunch. His sisters are colorfully named Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail. We can’t forget his clumsy, colorful cousin Benjamin Bunny. Peter looks after the family. To provide food, Peter must fearlessly venture into Mr. McGregor’s garden.

This film is a lovely animated comedy. It carefully brings the book’s characters to life. Their lives have substance and their existence has meaning and nothing happens in the countryside without reason. Bea (Rose Byrne) is Mr. McGregor’s carefree neighbor who cares for Peter and understands the plight of his family.

“Peter Rabbit” is a good film. Children will enjoy it but parents will find themselves laughing as well. Corden’s comedy provides the film with a needed sense of calm. The CGI is amazing and the music is fitting for the environment. The movie has a great story and is endearing and homely.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film. I always liked the story of Peter Rabbit and his battles with Mr. McGregor and it was great to see their wars brought to life on the big screen. This film is one the family can all watch together and feel loved. “Peter Rabbit” is filled with lessons of value and courtesy and home is a valuable place, even when you have to share your own.

In theaters Friday, February 9th
