Movie Review: The Battle To Save The World Wages On In “Battalion”

[yasr_overall_rating]

After a war against an enemy from another world breaks out in the South Pacific, a group of freshly recruited U.S. Marines are sent to the front lines.

War and destruction are powerful acts of chaos. They rip apart families, destroy friendships, and ultimately end lives. The world we live in is filled with mystery as it continues to evolve. Daily we find out new things about ourselves and our overall existence within the universe. “Battalion” examines our existence as we engage in intergalactic warfare with an army from another galaxy. The war is fierce, but it must be fought to maintain our existence.

“Battalion” follows the life of John Blake (Jesse Richardson) as he lives the life of a surfer in California. Things are going well for John as he mixes and mingles with friends before eventually meeting up with his family. Upon returning home, John greets his army brother Chris (Michael Thomson), who is enjoying a break from duty with the family before an intergalactic war breaks out that turns everyone’s life upside down. The war affects citizens throughout the world and leads to John enlisting in the army to help his brother in the fight to save the world.

This is a sci-fi movie filled with plenty of action. The war is the overall theme and it has devastating results. All of the characters are continuously affected by its devastation and the objecting army is relentless in their pursuit of global dominance. Their quest for dominance leads to countless battles throughout the film.

I enjoyed the action and suspense of this film. It’s unpredictable at times but in a good way. Moviegoers don’t want to know what’s going to happen in every scene that appears. The battle scenes are engaging and the cast fights as if their own personal lives were on the line and I thought that was cool about the film. The film is very engaging and the cast made all their roles seem believable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film and I liked the acting and the presentation. It is a good war movie that also involves a good degree of drama, suspense, comedy, and love. It sparks various emotions at different points of the film, ones in which I think audiences will enjoy. I also think they will appreciate the acting of all the actors involved.
