Hillbilly Horror “Kyrsyä: Tuftland” Slaughters Its First Trailer

The first official trailer for “Kyrsyä: Tuftland” has now been released. Tuftland will have its North American premiere this coming December at the Other Worlds Austin in Texas followed by its Asian premiere in January at the Jaipur International Film Festival in the Welcome Regard section.

“Kyrsyä: Tuftland” is Roope Olenius’ directorial debut and features an ensemble cast of talented thespians versed in the independent film scene in Finland as well as the Finnish genre movement such as Veera W. Vilo, Jari Manninen and Enni Ojutkangas (“Bunny the Killer Thing”), Saara Elina and Ari Savonen (“Backwood Madness”), Miika J. Antilla (“Ex-onnelliset” (TV)), Janne-Markus Kataja and Neea Viitamäki. In addition, Ria Kataja (“Black Ice,” “Open up to Me,” “Man and a Baby”), one of the most celebrated actresses to come out of Finland plays a major role in the film.

“Kyrsyä: Tuftland” is a Finnish hillbilly horror picture that revolves around a stubborn textile student (Veera W. Vilo) who takes a summer job in the isolated and offbeat village of Kyrsyä in an effort to overcome her personal problems.

EuroObscura, the Los Angeles based sales agency specialized in European cult and horror has acquired the world rights to the film and will be handling its international sales.
