“Gimme Danger” Available On DVD & Digital January 31, 2017

From award-winning filmmaker Jim Jarmusch (“Only Lovers Left Alive,” “Broken Flowers”), comes the electrifying music documentary chronicling the rise and fall of legendary punk rock band The Stooges, “Gimme Danger,” available on DVD and Digital January 31st, 2017, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This explosively entertaining “rock story of guts and glory and excess and failure” (Steve Pond, The Wrap) features revealing new interviews with the band’s members, including rock icon Iggy Pop, thrilling live performances and a soundtrack packed with wall-to-wall Stooges classics. “Gimme Danger” is a comprehensive and energizing tour through punk rock history that music and movie fans alike won’t want to miss.

Emerging from Ann Arbor, Michigan amidst a countercultural revolution, The Stooges’ powerful and aggressive style of rock-n-roll blew a crater in the musical landscape of the late 1960s. Assaulting audiences with a blend of rock, blues, R&B, and free jazz, the band planted the seeds for what would be called punk and alternative rock in the decades that followed. Jim Jarmusch’s new film “Gimme Danger” chronicles the story of The Stooges, one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time. GIMME DANGER presents the context of the Stooges emergence musically, culturally, politically, historically, and relates their adventures and misadventures while charting their inspirations and the reasons behind their initial commercial challenges, as well as their long-lasting legacy.

“Gimme Danger” was produced by Carter Logan, Fernando Sulichin and Rob Wilson and executive produced by Serge Lobo, José Ibáñez and Jon Kilik. It has a run time of approximately 108 minutes and is rated R for drug content and language.
