Fandango Unveils Top Movie-Inspired Costumes Of 2017

Fandango, the ultimate digital network for all things movies, asked more than 1,000 moviegoers in October which movie-inspired costumes they’ll be wearing this year for Halloween. (Choices were limited to movie characters from the 2017 calendar year.)

Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” was the number one choice for movie-inspired female costumes. Gadot also stars as Wonder Woman in the upcoming November 17th release, “Justice League” (advance tickets went on sale Wednesday on Fandango and are selling at a brisk pace).

For male movie-inspired costumes, Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgard) from the horror blockbuster, “It,” was the top choice among men, while “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” was the top pick for a group costume.

“‘Wonder Woman’ has had an immense cultural impact on the world since Patty Jenkins’ film debuted over the summer, and it’s a real affirmation to see that character prevail as the top choice for female Halloween costumes inspired by 2017 movies,” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “For the majority of fans, she is the most anticipated part of ‘Justice League’ and is no doubt helping fuel our advance ticket sales. It’s also exciting to see Pennywise topping the male costumes list, and somewhat surprisingly, Ansel Elgort’s ‘Baby Driver’ rounding out the top five.”
