Comedy Central Greenlights Animated Series “Legends Of Chamberlain Heights”

Brace yourself to meet these “legends” as Comedy Central has greenlit the urban coming-of-age animated tale, “Legends of Chamberlain Heights,” a weekly primetime comedy series, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Original Programming, Comedy Central.

“Legends of Chamberlain Heights” is executive produced by Bento Box Entertainment’s (“Bob’s Burgers,” “The Awesomes”) Scott Greenberg, Joel Kuwahara, Mark McJimsey and Mike Clements (“Good Vibes,” “The Life & Times of Tim”), along with Brad Ableson (“The Simpsons,” “Good Vibes”) and Michael Starrbury (“The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete”), with creative team Quinn Hawking and Josiah Johnson (“www.jerseychaser.com”) producing. The series’ ten-episode season will premiere in 2016.

“This show is so relatable because no matter how much of a legend we are in our own minds, deep down we know we have some benchwarmer in us, too,” said Alterman.

“We have an amazing creative team behind ‘Legends of Chamberlain Heights’ and we couldn’t think of a more perfect home for the show than Comedy Central. We are extremely excited to continue to grow our relationship with Comedy Central,” added Scott Greenberg, Co-Founder & CEO, Bento Box Entertainment.

“Legends of Chamberlain Heights” is an urban animated series mixing raucous comedy and social commentary that centers on three high school freshman: Jamal, Grover, and Milk. The three friends tackle life with some wins and some losses, but failure doesn’t faze them since they’re legends…even if it’s just in their own minds.

“The Simpsons” veteran artist Ableson developed the original concept with Clements, Hawking, Johnson and Starrbury. Retired UCLA Bruin basketball players, Hawking and Johnson provided inspiration for the characters.
