People will stop at nothing to get the things they want out of life. Science has always been a fascinating thing. It holds the key to many of life’s mysteries. In the wrong hands, it can be detrimental to society. Those seeking science for their own good will even resort to violence. “Reset” gives viewers a glimpse of just how demented those people can be.
The film follows single mother Xia Tian (Yang Mi) as she works on a groundbreaking discovery. Xia Tian and her team of researchers are working on a time travel project. They begin their work by testing animals and later move onto humans. Xia Tian works endlessly at her job causing her to miss time with her beloved son Dou Dou (Hummer Zhang).
This film is a scientific thriller with villains from the future causing chaos throughout. The plot is murderous and they are on a quest to gain control of the secrets to time travel. Xia Tian is a passionate mother and her only love is her son and she will do anything to protect him and “Reset” shows the many lengths a mother will go through to protect her child.
This film is wonderfully shot. The graphics are stunning and very futuristic while the scenes are all believable and the acting is great. “Reset,” tells a beautiful love story. It’s family based but also filled with drama, suspense, and action. It is a time travel mystery from beginning to end.
I have a fond appreciation for action movies with a good storyline. “Reset” only becomes better when you mix sci-fi with drama and I think action film lovers will appreciate this film too as it is diverse and cutting edge. The acting is phenomenal and the movie is appropriate for audiences of all ages. Overall, I enjoyed this film.
