In rural India, a determined inventor upsets his family and invites talk of scandal when he tries to develop and market a low-cost sanitary pad.
Based on the true story of Arunachalam Muruganandam, one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People (2014). In 2006, Muruganandam invented a cost-effective machine to provide sanitary napkins to the women of India. Until then, sanitary napkins were a luxury item that many women could not afford to use.
